Queer the Smear
Here’s the thing. I’m the go-to gal for anything “queer” among “straight” friends. I delight in the expertise status. As a personal is political kind of lady, I am honor-bound to share every morsel of advice that I believe is pertinent. Including how I came to identifying as a butch bisexual. But that is another story, another day.
Here is where we emotional DIY-ers with years of receiving or thinking about receiving counseling mix it up. I think with our knowledge combined, we can conquer the landmines of oppression. These days you would like to think you can identify the enemy, but often as not, it may be in your own mirror. This is not so much a message of reflection, ideas, awareness, or the etceteras of our hearts and minds but a message of hope. We all hold a grain of compassion, thoughtfulness, patience, honesty. It is a message of faith (in a day and age of the bastardization of that word no less). I take that word from any initiative that doesn’t have initiative and I say truly, “I have faith in us.” We are what it takes. And we will do what it takes. So get your asses out there with me and us and love as big as your boundaries. Never more, never less.
